GALE  PATRICK  SECHTEM

RUSSELL - Gale Patrick Sechtem, 61, died March 10 at Hays Medical Center in Hays. He was born Nov. 25, 1940, in Hays, the son of Everett and Jean  Talbott Sechtem. He was a 1959 graduate of Russell High School and received a bachelors degree from Fort Hays State University.

He married LoAnn Eurich  Aug. 7, 1963, in Russell. A lifelong resident of Russell, he taught shop  and history at various area schools, before opening Sechtem's Cabinet Shop, which evolved into Sechtem's Wood Products.  Sechtem was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus  Council 3034, both in Russell and National Society of Tole and Decorative Painters.

Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Phillip Sechtem of  Overland Park and John Sechtem of Russell; and one daughter, Julie Sechtem of Russell. He was preceded in death  by one brother, Everett Allen Sechtem. 

Funeral was at 10 a.m. today at the church, with the Revs. Charles Steier and James Grennan officiating. Burial is at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Dorrance.  Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society or Russell Food Pantry, both in care of  Russell Funeral Home in Russell.
