Judy Lynn, daughter of Dale and Dorothy (Hoopes) Peck, was born Dec. 7, 1941, at Denver, CO.  She spent her childhood years in Kansas, graduating from high school in Russell, KS.  Judy then attended Westmar College in LeMars, IA, where she earned her bachelor's degree in education.

While at Westmar, Judy met Douglas Duane Boersma, and on Nov. 25, 1961, they were united in marriage at Russell, KS.  They were both teachers at Greenville-Rossie schools for two years before moving to Manning in 1964.  Judy took a position as a second-grade teacher in the Manning school before deciding to stay home with their three children.  In later years, Judy was a substitute teacher in Manning.  She also helped Duane as an office assistant in his insurance business until his retirement in Feb. of 2004.  Duane died suddenly and unexpectedly in Sept. of that same year. 

Judy was a member of the Faith Evangelical Free Church in Audubon, serving in several different areas.  She enjoyed attendeding church and various Bible study groups.  For much of her life, Judy devoted herself to her husband and children: Kevin, Molly, and Natan.  In the past ten years, she delighted in spoiling her three grandchildren during their annual summer visits to her house.  Judy surrounded herself with great friends and family who will all miss her deeply.  

On Wednesday, March 21, 2007, Judy died from injuries sustained in a car accident south of Manning.  She was 65 years, 3 months and 14 days of age.  Judy was preceded in death by her husband Duane.  

She is survived by three children:  Kevin Boersma and Tammy Otto of Manning; Molly and husband Duane Wilson of Eagle Grove; Nathan Boersma and wife Lee Ann of Lyndhurst, NJ; parents Dale and Dorothy Peck of Salina, KS; granddaughters: Heather, Amy and Sara Wilson of Eagle Grove; sister-in-law Marlys and husband Edward Ross of Seattle, WA; many of relatives and friends.
