Sharon Kay Brungardt 

Sharon Kay Brungardt 67 died Sunday May 17, 2009 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.  She was born June 17, 1941 at Russell, KS, the daughter of Ralph and Isabel (Krug) Conner.  She was a 1959 graduate of Russell High School in Russell, KS. She has been a resident of Liberal for the past 38 years. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Liberal for 38 years. She also was a member of the Kitchen Kapers Bowling Club and the Liberal Women Golf Association.  On August 15, 1959, she married Norman Joseph Brungardt in Russell, KS. He survives.

Daughter: Julie Brungardt                                            Tulsa, OK

1 Brother Jim Barnes and wife Meridy                         Russell, KS

6 Grandchildren Misti Ortiz, Sherry Giske, Tracie Adams, Tyler Brungardt, Bailey Brungardt and Ryder Brungardt.

6 Great Grandchildren LilliAnna, Alexander and Isaiah Ortiz, Seda and Kaelyn Giske and Brayden Adams.
Preceded in death by her Father, Mother and Step-Father Bob Barnes.

Vigil and Rosary service will be held 7:00 pm Wednesday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel, Liberal.
Graveside Service will be 1:00 pm Thursday at St. Fidelis Cemetery in Victoria, KS with Fr. Michael Scully, O.F.M., Cap presiding. The casket will be open at 12:30 pm till service time at the cemetery. Family will greet friends from  2-4 pm Thursday at Meridy’s Restaurant in Russell, KS

Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 am Friday at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Fr. James P. Dieker presiding.
Visitation time will be 1-5pm Tuesday and 9am to 8pm Wednesday at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers and plants, memorial contributions may be sent to American Cancer Society or Susan G. Koman for the Cure in care of Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home  1212 W. 2nd Liberal, KS 67901.

Sharon Kay Brungardt, 67, Liberal, died Sunday May 17, 2009, at Southwest Medical Center, Liberal.

She was born June 17, 1941, in Russell to Ralph and Isabel (Krug) Conner. She was a 1959 graduate of Russell High School.

She married Norman Joseph Brungardt on Aug. 15, 1959, in Russell. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church, Liberal, for 38 years, Kitchen Kapers Bowling Club and Liberal Women Golf Association.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; two sons, Norman "Junior" Brungardt and Julie Hefner, Liberal, and Mark Brungardt and wife, Amanda, Turpin, Okla.; a daughter, Julie Brungardt, Tulsa, Okla.; a brother, Jim Barnes and wife, Meridy, Russell; six grandchildren, Misti Ortiz, Sherry Giske, Tracie Adams, Tyler Brungardt, Bailey Brungardt and Ryder Brungardt; and six great-grandchildren, LilliAnna, Alexander and Isaiah Ortiz, Seda and Kaelyn Giske and Brayden Adams.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and step-father, Bob Barnes.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday (May 21) in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria,  (with Fr. Michael Scully, OFM, Cap. presiding); additional services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Liberal.

Visitation will be until 5 p.m. today, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, both at Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home, Liberal, and from 12:30 p.m. until time of service Thursday (May 21) at the cemetery. Family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at Meridy's Restaurant, Russell.

A vigil/rosary will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. (A memorial mass will be held Friday, May 22, at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, with Fr. James P. Dieker presiding).

(In lieu of Flowers and plants), Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, or Susan G. Koman for the Cure in care of the funeral home.
