LEE  DAVID  “PETE” WITTMAN

Lee David Pete Wittman, 47, died Friday, March 18, at his home in Russell.  He was born May 4, 1940, at Haddam, Kan., to Leslie Alexander and Floreine June (Lancaster) Wittman.  He married Dee Ann Bray May 25, 1968, at Russell.

 

He was a graduate of Russell High School, Class of 1959, and worked 25 years for the City of Russell.  He was Line Foreman of the Electrical Department, Distribution System. 

 

Mr. Wittman was actively involved for 10 years with the Wrestling Federation of Russell, working with the younger children.  He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge and Shrine Club, all of Russell, and the Isis Shrine and Consistory of Salina.

 

Survivors are his wife, Dee Ann, of the home; one son, David, and one daughter, Tamara, of the home; his father, Les, of Russell; one brother, Tyner, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and one sister, Mrs. Fred (Kay) Miller, of Russell.  He was preceded in death by his mother Floreine, on Feb. 2, 1987.

 

Mr. Wittman's funeral was at 10 a.m. today at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Rev. Vern Bowers officiating. Burial was at the Wilson City Cemetery, Wilson, Kan.  Memorials are to Russell Hospice, Inc. Pohlman's Mortuary, Russell, was in charge.
